Pine Logs Sorting as a Function of Bark Thickness

چکیده
The process of sorting softwood raw materials is aimed at full automation. Techniques such as laser and optical scanning, used in measuring wood material with the layer bark, are based on an analysis external shape log. consequence this use constant ranges bark deductions, which often affected by errors resulting from averaging values. thickness influenced many factors, tree species quality habitat trees have grown. In case pine wood, range adopted diametral intervals for processed plays a significant role. automatic results showed numerous cases log-size mismatch. methods that assume measurement deductions should be made experiments take into account resources base. Despite high correlation between size deduction average (r = 0.85), mean value error adjustment to maximum was 45%. analyzed correlated. level coefficient r 0.72. order increase accuracy process, adjusted values each group.

متن کاملSorption of pentachlorophenol on pine bark.
The minimization of pentachlorophenol (PCP) transport in the environment driven by industrial wastewater discharges can be accomplished by sorption in natural, available and low cost by-products like pine bark. Taking into account that PCP is a chemical which behaviour is highly dominated by the surrounding features, this work intended to evaluate the sorption kinetics and equilibrium parameter...
متن کاملAnthropogenic fire and bark thickness in coastal and island pine populations from Alta and Baja California
Fire is a common ecosystem process in many landscapes of western North America. Each landscape has a unique set of properties such as fuel arrangement, load, weather, ignitions, cultural history and topography that will influence fire behaviour and effects. These characteristics will have an impact on the probability that a particular area will be subjected to low-moderate intensity fires, stan...
متن کاملAntioxidant activity of pine bark constituents.
A modified in vitro lipid peroxidation inhibition assay was used to guide the fractionation and the isolation of antioxidative principles of Fnnish pine bark extract. This approach yielded 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (protocatechuic acid) and taxifolin-3-O-beta-glucopyranoside as major antioxidative compounds from the plant material. The structural elucidation of these compounds was undertaken wi...
متن کاملBark thickness and fire regime
1. Bark is a vital and very visible part of woody plants, yet only recently has bark characteristics started to be considered as key traits structuring communities and biomes. Bark thickness is very variable among woody plants, and I hypothesize that fire is a key factor selecting for a thick bark, and thus, at the global scale, a significant proportion of the variability in bark thickness is e...
